Big 5 Construct Ethiopia to highlight opportunities in the country’s construction market

3 min read

As Ethiopia’s construction market accelerates investment across transport, power and ICT infrastructure, Big 5 Construct Ethiopia returns for its 2026 edition to Addis International Convention Centre from 23 to 25 April.

The exhibition will gather more than 10 000 attendees including contractors, developers, engineers and government authorities, featuring more than 180 exhibitors from over 20 countries, showcasing products and solutions across the project lifecycle, from conception to completion.

This demand is reflected across an expansive national project pipeline. Major developments such as the $7.8-billion Abusera International Airport, the $4-billion Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway and the $1.5-billion La Gare urban redevelopment are among the initiatives supporting the country’s built environment. These projects span residential, commercial, logistics and public infrastructure, sustaining demand across every construction supply category, which Big 5 Construct Ethiopia is positioned to address.

“Ethiopia is fast emerging as a priority growth market for the construction industry players seeking to establish and expand their local presence. Big 5 Construct Ethiopia provides an opportunity for local and international companies to collaborate and connect with key decision-makers, understand project requirements and identify where they can deliver value. By bringing the supply chain together in one place, the event supports strategic partnerships and informed business engagement,” says Josine Heijmans, senior vice-president at dmg events.

International exhibitors and country pavilions

The exhibition gathers more than 180 exhibitors across key product sectors including mechanical, electrical & plumbing services, building interiors and finishes, construction tools and personal protective equipment, heavy construction equipment and digital construction solutions.

Participants include Masa, SANY Group, Midea/KKGW, EJOT, Asian Paint, Lesso Ethiopia, Techno Plastic Industry and Wilo – representing local and international expertise tailored to Ethiopia’s active project demands.

Adding to the international dimension, country pavilions from Saudi Arabia, Italy, Türkiye and China are rising international interest in the Ethiopian market.
